Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Project Details:
RPL is a process used to identify, assess and certify a person’s knowledge, skills and competencies – regardless of how, when or where the learning occurred – against prescribed standards for a part (modular) or full qualification pack for any defined sector. Recognition of Prior Learning – An initiative taken by Government of India, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana which is Implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation. Further it is allocated to state for the performing work in the defined sectors and to provide short term trainingby identification of talent and skill to those who are already working in their respective field or sector.
Details of Region Project is Implemented–
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is to be implemented across many Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Gujarat State. It has to be done under monitoring of Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission (GULM) as it will be our PIA. As per identification, training program are to be carry on over 31 ULBs of Gujarat with the Nos. of total 3500 trainees.
Description of Project-
Sector Skill Council(SSC) have started one best way that is Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL)to known how the employees working in their particular work filed in our country and also to identify their skilling knowledge and talent. In accordance to this we have got Training Project name RPL under State Authority GULM too. It has all different sectors but we have got work under Apparel Made-Up and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council for SELF EMPLOYED TAILORS with their skill screening and training to provide them the certificate of their excellence and pro defined talent in to their daily work. Hereby target provided to us is 3500 training candidates for Gujarat State. Further it has high performing practical work and we have to provide arrangement, management and classical expertise training to all candidates who are to be the part of this program. This Training program is of Short term and in this time, we have to check out eligibility, skill screening, performance, working speed, expertise of candidate. Further the project cost is of 50 Lakhs And it only for particular provided sector of RPL.
Project objectives are aligned with the objectives of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) & Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
The key objectives of the project are as following: -
- Promoting social inclusion and equity for disadvantaged groups – early school leavers, retrenched workers, ethnic minorities – by valuing experiential learning and providing them with opportunities to obtain qualifications.
- Encouraging lifelong learning in order to create a competent and adaptable workforce that can meet the challenges of a fast-changing labour market, address skills shortages and gaps and allow holistic development.
- Enhancing migrant workers’ skills portability, and their mobility.
- Fostering employability, and thus better, decent job and also encourage them to commence their own business
