Pradhan Mantri Jan VikasKaryakrm
Project Details:
PradhanMantri Jan VikasKaryakram (PMJVK) is a Scheme designed to address the development deficits of the identified Minority Concentration Areas. Prior to PMJVK, the Ministry implemented Multi-sectoral Development Programme since 2008-09. The areas of implementation, under PMJVK, have been identified on the basis of minority population and socio-economic and basic amenities data of Census 2011 and will be known as Minority Concentration Areas. 870 MCBs, 321 MCTs and 109 MCDs Hqs which are backward, have been identified. AIILSG has assigned work for PradhanMantri Jan VikasKaryakrm in 24 clusters of 15 districts in Gujarat State.
The plan is considered ambitious as it aims to bring a number of development programs to the villages. Some of these programs are Bharat Nirman, PradhanMantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) for rural roads, water supply, housing, electrification and other big-ticket schemes like SarvaShikshaAbhiyan, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Integrated Child Development Services, and sanitation. This program would be applicable to around 44,000 villages which had a scheduled castes population above 50% and so qualified for PMAGY. AIILSG has assigned work for PradhanMantriAdarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY) in 25 villages of Gujarat State.
