Established in the Year 1999

The Regional Centre Nagpur was established in May 1999 under the guidance and chairmanship of late Shri M. P. Tanksale, retired IAS Officer and Municipal Commissioner from Thane. At that time, Municipal Councils and Corporations in Vidarbha Region were vying for receiving capacity building inputs relating Local Self Govt. To overcome these difficulties a Centre was opened at Nagpur by experience senior officers retired from the Local Self Govt. Centre also conducted the Socio- Economic Development Projects in Chandrapur District, which are sponsored by Western Coal Fields.
