Implementation Support Agency (ISA) under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Chhattisgarh
AIILSG is empaneled as ISA in Kanker, Dhamtari, Gariyaband, Balod, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Surajpur districts of Chhattisgarh State.
Broad Objective of the scheme:
- Provide FHTC to every rural household;
- prioritize provision of FHTCs in quality affected areas, villages in drought prone and desert areas, Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) villages, etc.;
- provide functional tap connection to Schools, Anganwadi centres, GP buildings, Health centres, wellness centres and community buildings;
- monitor functionality of tap connections;
- promote and ensure voluntary ownership among local community by way of contribution in cash, kind and/ or labour and voluntary labour (shramdaan);
- assist in ensuring sustainability of water supply system, i.e. water source, water supply infrastructure, and funds for regular O&M;
- empower and develop human resource in the sector such that the demands of construction, plumbing, electrical, water quality management, water treatment, catchment protection, O&M, etc. are taken care of in short- and long-terms;
- bring awareness during different phases of implementation on various aspects and significance of safe drinking water and involvement of stakeholders in manner that make water everyone's business.
Description of Project: ISA will play critical role as partners in mobilizing and engaging the communities to plan, design, implement, manage, operate & maintain in-village water supply infrastructure.
The objectives of ISAs are as follows-
- To facilitate constitution of sub-committee of Gram Panchayat, i.e. VWSC and arrange to build capacities of its functionaries;
- To provide handhold Gram Panchayat and VWSC;
- To conduct need assessment of FHTCs and motivate village communities to have FHTCs;
- Act as coordination platform between DWSM and VWSC;
- By using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools for community mobilization and carry out need assessment;
- To assist the community in water campaigns initiated by Government of India/ state Government;
- To build awareness on various aspects of water such as rain water harvesting, artificial recharge, water quality, water-borne disease, water saving, water handling, drinking water source augmentation/ sustainability aspects, etc;
- To document and upload success stories from villages;
- To Carry out Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) activities;

Work done: Creating awareness among the people for Jal Jeevan Mission. User Registration of women from villages are going on to train them how to do the testing of water and to submit the reports on JJM portal. Baseline survey work is going on.
