A meeting of the Maharashtra Mayors’ Council was held on 11 January, 2020 under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Mayor of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Kishoritai Pednekar at Sthanikraj Bhavan, Mumbai. The meeting was discussed on the various subjects. The following Mayor-Members of the Council were present:

• 4) Hon’ble Mrs. Dimple Mehta- Mayor, Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation.
• 5) Hon’ble Mrs. SangeetaVithalraoKhot- Mayor, Sangli-Kupwad-Miraj Municipal Corporation.
• 6) Hon’ble Mr. Chandrakant Sonar- Mayor, Dhule Municipal Corporation.
• 7) Hon’ble Mrs. KavitaChautmol – Mayor, Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Hon’ble Mr. RanjitChavan, President, All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG), Mrs. Hansa Patel, Sr. Executive Advisor, AIILSG and Mr. Laxmanrao Latake, the Convener of the Maharashtra Mayors’ Council also participated in the deliberations.

The aim of this forum is to empower the elected representatives and municipal officials so that the corporations can improve service delivery mechanism and hence, improve the quality of life of their citizens. During the meeting, it was felt that more awareness is required amongst the Mayors as well as elected representatives, and therefore, there is a need of organizing seminars/conferences, training programmes and research work so as to derive long term benefits

On the occasion of World Health Day, students across AIILSG Centres organizes rallies with slogans related to Heath and Sanitation. Mr. Manbha Mori, Mayor of Bhavnagar Participated in the rally with the students of AIILSG and talked about awareness of cleanliness and gave guidance on sanitation and health. Whereas, at Rajkot Centre students were grouped in pairs and every group made a Selfie Frame with messages and slogans with contemporary trending symbols of social media hashtags like
